Tea Talks

If you know anything about me, you’ll know I enjoy a really good cup of tea. So what a better way to get Mondays started than chatting over a good ol’ cuppa? Feel free to join in the conversation in the comments or chat to me on Twitter!

Do you ever look around your house/apartment and think “I have too much STUFF”, but then decide you don’t care enough to purge it? Welcome to my weekly thought process.

Although I enjoy living in Memphis for the warm weather (sometimes), I really can’t get use to this 80 degrees in February. I know that it’s rare, but it’s still hard for my brain and body to process it. How do I even dress for work? It’s suppose to be 81 today. EIGHTY ONE!? Granted, I do work inside with A/C, but still. My body/arms aren’t ready for spring clothes. This isn’t fair, climate change.

Saturday I met up with my friend Caia at the dog park at Shelby Farms and we had a doggie play date. If you aren’t following me on Twitter, I adopted a dog, Booker, last year. He’s a corgi mix and has brought so much joy to my life. I still have the cats, and love them dearly, but I just wanted to expand my zoo.

Caia and I chatted about a bunch of stuff, but one stuck out to me in particular. We both agreed that we’re so exhausted politically and personally, and Trump has been in office only a month. ONE MONTH. Disclaimer: I loathe the man. I grew up Republican, but now I’m socially liberal, fiscally conservative. So middle of the road for the most part. I’m rarely going to get political here, but I think everyone agrees that it’s just too mentally taxing to handle society lately.

I’m desperately trying to tackle my weight. After a not-so-fun-talk with my doctor at my annual physical, your girl has got to drop some pudge. My biggest roadblock is sugar, which is probably one of the worst ones to have. I have a HUGE sweet tooth. For Lent, I’m giving up processed sugars. I have to. I have to cold-turkey, detox my body.
I’ve been attempting to workout, at least 3 days a week. Last week was a success, I did a Fitness Blender workout, did arm/upper body weight work at the gym and walked at the park with Caia for about 45 minutes. Yesterday I took Booker back to the park and we walked for about an hour and a half, and hopefully I can push myself to go to the gym at least twice, plus a FB video in there once or twice.
I need to constantly remind myself to chug down water, even when I’m not thirsty. The struggle.

Can I start a GoFundMe so I can pay someone to come fold and put away my laundry for me? Seriously. That’s the one adulting thing I hate the most. I usually live out of my multiple basket-closets all week.

Happy Monday y’all. 🙂
