I think I mentioned it in last week’s post, but my scale actually broke a few weeks ago and not because of me. One of the legs ended up breaking off which made it not register any weight at all. So this weekend I decided to invest and I bought a $40 Weight Watchers scale which measures body mass, body water and bone mass. I’m still skeptical on how accurate it is, but it’s still interesting to see that data, at least to me.
And do you know what? I lost 5 pounds in those two weeks without a scale. I’m down 10 pounds overall since my PCP visit in December which means I only need to lose 20 more pounds to be at my goal by my vacation in June, which I think is really attainable.
But only if I actually get my butt moving. Saturday, like you saw in my 365 Project post, I went and walked in the park for over an hour. I climbed the hills and even ran a bit – shocking, I know. But that’s a huge contrast to the past few days, where it’s been bitter cold and getting outside to exercise hasn’t been my thing. I’m also debating on going to the gym, even though I’m not sure how my contract is set up anymore. I was suppose to bring the cancellation form on Monday, but with the bad weather I just forgot.
I’ve been eating semi-decently, although not as healthy as I probably should have been. I did buy a Nutri Ninja blender and holy crap is that sucker loud. But it gives me the smoothest smoothies I’ve ever had, so I can’t complain too much. I think at least one smoothie a day will make me feel better – right now I’ve just been doing strawberry-banana ones, and I’ve tried one green smoothie but I think I threw too much lemon in because it was bitter.
